Giving Back
Global Shares believes in giving back to the community - both the stock plan community as well as the community where our employees live. The following programs are available to our employees:Volunteer Day: Each and every Global Shares employee is encouraged to spend one day each calendar year working with a non-profit group in their local community, investing their time to make their community a better place. Where the employee spends their time is strictly up to each individual.
Matching employee funds: Any Global Shares employee who participates in a fund raising activity for non-profit groups will receive 25% in matching funds from Global Shares (up to 1,000 in their local currency (pounds, dollars or euros).
Stock Plan Community participation: Each Global Shares employee is encouraged to develop their professional skills. At Global Shares, we budget up to 7 days of continuing education and training for each administrator. We also encourage everyone to volunteer time with industry organizations by serving on committees and organizing local events.
The Corporate Gift Program: Each year, a committee of representative Global Shares employees will determine two non profits organizations (one in the US and one in Ireland) who will receive a donation. The total contribution will be 1% of the after tax profits, split evenly between the two organizations.
