2008 Leadership Forum Golf Tournament (Sunday)

Hosted by:

This year we are holding the 2nd annual Leadership Forum Golf Tournament at Silverado Resort’s South Course, designed by architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr.  The South Course is where the Senior PGA (Champions’ Tour) holds a tournament each year.  The tournament will be played on Sunday, April 6 with tee times beginning at 9:30.

Silverado’s premier Napa Valley golf resort courses cover 360 acres and feature lush vegetation, ponds, lakes, three sweet water creeks, trees arching over the fairways and artfully placed traps and greens.  The 6,685-yard South Course challenges golfers with side-hill lies and more than a dozen water crossings. A complete golf pro shop replete with Napa Valley Wine Country gift items is available in the Club House.  A staff of top professionals is on hand to assist guests in improving their golf game.

Like last year the tournament will be a scramble, where everyone hits a tee shot, the players pick the best shot and play on from that point, always playing off the best shot until the ball is holed.  The specific tournament rules will be determined prior to the start of the tournament based on the number of people who sign-up to play.

Space is limited to 16 people, so sign-up early and please provide your handicap if you have one.  Also, please let us know if you will be bringing your clubs or will be renting them.

Wine Country Tour (Sunday)

Hosted by:

We will depart from the Carneros Inn in two vans on Sunday at 10:00 am. The wine tour, sponsored by Linklaters, should be an adventure for experienced guests of Napa, as well as those who are visiting for the first time.

Our first stop is Monticello Vineyards  (http://www.corleyfamilynapavalley.com/index.php) a family owned winery in the Oak Knoll District in the southern Napa Valley. After our tour, we will stop in the quaint town of Yountville for lunch. You are free to explore the wide range of restaurants Yountville has to offer; from the simplistic Yountville Grocery and Deli (which offers garden tables to their customers) to The French Laundry, one of California’s best know epicureans. You will be on your own for lunch and some restaurants require reservations, so please try to plan your lunch in advance if you want to go somewhere specific. For a complete list of Yountville restaurants please visit:  http://yountville.com/page.php?url=napa-valley-restaurants. We expect to arrive in Yountville by noon and depart at 1:30 pm.

After lunch in Yountville we will travel to the Miner Family Vineyards for a tour and tasting (http://www.minerwines.com/index.html). Miner Family Vineyards is a family owned winery tucked into the eastern hills of the Oakville Appellation on the Silverado Trail.

Our last stop for the day will be the beautiful champagne house of Domaine Carneros  (http://www.domainecarneros.com/) located in the Carneros wine region. We plan to return to the Inn by 5:00, in time to quickly freshen up for our BBQ dinner.

Spa Services (Saturday or Sunday) We apologize, but at this time Spa Appointments are completely booked. There may be appointments available by booking directly with the hotel, but Global Shares will not be able to sponsor any of these additional appointments.

At The Carneros Inn, where we overlook the vineyards and farmlands of Carneros, the land inspires us. That is why we have based many of our Napa Valley spa services and treatments on the very ingredients inherent in our surroundings.

You will find that we have arranged our treatments in ways that reflect elements of our natural setting: The Harvests, The Minerals, The Cellars, The Farms, The Flowers and The Creeks of Carneros. Our Cottage Services – a special menu of luxury spa services brought to your cottage – extends our spa offerings to your doorstep.

We believe that to truly relax is to become at ease with your surroundings. So whether you pick fresh lavender from our garden or relax into a sun salutation on your cottage deck, we hope you’ll make our surroundings your own. Your comfort is our first priority.
