We were over the moon to be crowned winner of the ‘FinTech Innovation’ Award at the 2022 Financial Services Awards in association with KPMG. The Award Ceremony took place at Dublin’s Mansion House on October 27th, and was attended by 300 people from the financial services community
The FS Awards were established to ‘celebrate excellence in financial services, recognise the brightest minds and showcase the reinvention of the sector’. This year they also celebrated 35 years of the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Ireland and were sponsored by KPMG.
KPMG is delighted to celebrate the very best in Ireland’s Financial Services industry and support the FS Awards. The level of entries across the ten categories was outstanding and demonstrates why Ireland is recognised as one of the leading financial services centres in Europe and a location of choice for many international finance firms.
Our judges said that Global Shares have really pushed the boundaries on innovation and took the bold decision to pivot from services to develop a global fintech software solution. It is this level of innovation that has made Global Shares deserved winners in this very competitive category.
Ireland's pedigree in financial services is renowned the world over, and we are absolutely thrilled to be recognised by the FS community here by winning the FinTech Innovation Award - a tough and highly competitive category. Global Shares is innovation-lead to its core in terms of our financial technology development. We have disrupted the employee share plans industry and have pivoted the business onto the global stage. The success of Global Shares is a testament to our fantastic entrepreneurial and visionary team here in Ireland and around the world. This award comes at a very exciting time of expansion for Global Shares globally. Looking ahead the sky is the limit in terms of our future growth opportunities.
Global Shares was shortlisted as a finalist by a panel of judges, along with five other companies: Alviere, Liberty Insurance, Strikepay, Taxback International and Xtract 360.
The award ‘recognises the very best initiatives, systems and products created which demonstrate outstanding innovation in finance’. The judges were looking for ‘a company that contributed to the advancement of technology within the sector, and innovation that has a proven record of benefitting both the organisation and its customers’.
There were 10 diverse categories and two special recognition awards presented.
