Global Shares – a J.P. Morgan company – was honoured to win the ‘Deal of the Year’ Award at The Irish Times Business Awards 2022, which took place on February 2nd.
The awards are a flagship event for The Irish Times to celebrate the many successes of individuals and companies in Irish business over the course of 2022. The guest of honour was Ireland’s Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath.
Five awards were presented, including Deal of the Year, Local Enterprise of the Year, Company of the Year and the overall Business Person of the Year. Special recognition was also given to a Distinguished Leader in Business for their ongoing success, dedication and determination over a longer time period.
In the Deal of the Year category, four companies were shortlisted by the judging panel including multi-billion-dollar transactions by CRH, Hibernia Reit, and Horizon Therapeutics.
The five award winners were:
· Deal of the Year – Global Shares
· Local Enterprise of the Year – ATA
· Company of the Year – CRH
· Overall Business Person of the Year – Barry Connolly, Fulfil
· Distinguished Leader in Business – Hotelier John Fitzpatrick
The winners on the night were chosen from ‘a carefully selected list of nominees’ compiled by The Irish Times business editor Ciarán Hancock and his team throughout the year.
