Global Shares’ won the prestigious Deloitte ‘FinTech Company of the Year’ at the 2017 Awards, which recognises how it has influenced the fintech space in terms of technology, innovation, growth and job creation. The company has ranked in the Deloitte Fast 50 for the past two years.

Our CEO, Tim Houstoun, commented: “We are delighted to receive an endorsement from Deloitte for the third consecutive year, celebrating our growth and indicating the consistent progress we are making. It has been a busy 12 months at Global Shares. We’ve doubled our team in size to more than 300 staff, opened six new offices globally, launched a suite of new services for our clients and introduced a number of important initiatives to ensure our team is in the best possible shape as we continue on our journey of growth. We are one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Ireland because companies around the world come to us looking to take their equity compensation plans to a new level. Next year promises to deliver even stronger growth and that is thanks to the amazing team we have here at Global Shares”.

Fast 50 Awards celebrate 20 years

David Shanahan, Partner and Fast 50 Programme Lead at Deloitte, said: “The key to the Fast 50, now in its 20th year, is its credibility.  We look at revenue growth over the last four years and validate the accounts.  It’s not just picking the companies randomly or subjectively. It is based on objective measurement of the financial performance of the companies. The winners can call themselves the fastest-growing technology companies in Ireland, which gives them a credible level of external validation and we are told this is extremely useful externally, particularly when it comes to exporting”.

The Award was accepted by Global Share’s Mark Griffin – Director of Business Development Ireland – at a ceremony in Dublin.
