Global Shares, together with ifs ProShare, hosted a Private Company Seminar on July 1st, gathering together professionals of the highest caliber from the UK Equity Compensation Sector to discuss the latest trends in Employee Equity Incentives for Private Companies.
With ever improving tax incentives to encourage wider employee ownership and an increase in the number of private companies using employee equity as a means to retain and incentivise staff, there is a growing momentum behind the concept of employee ownership in the UK.
The Global Shares / ifs ProShare Seminar took place in central London and covered a wide range of topics ranging from the use of Employee Equity for Succession Planning, Employee Share Ownership Trusts and the use of Technology to manage Employee Equity Programmes.
Speakers at the Seminar included the top names from the UK Equity Compensation Industry:
- Graeme Nuttall OBE – UK Government’s independent adviser on employee ownership; Member of HM Treasury Employee Ownership Advisory Group; Successfully drafted Private Members Employee Share Schemes Bill; Author of ‘Sharing Success – The Nuttall Review of Employee Ownership’
- Gabbi Stopp – Head of ifs ProShare, the not-for-profit organisation which represents the employee share plan community with the goal to further improve the fiscal, legal and regulatory environment for employee share plans
- Robert Postlethwaite – Founder and Managing Director of Postlethwaite law firm, specialist in employee share schemes
- Nigel Mason – Director of RM2 Partnership advisory firm, which has established over 1,000 employee share schemes
