We’re already one of the main companies in the global employee share plan space. And now, we are launching our new SaaS product to coincide with Hong Kong Fintech Week, held from 2- 6 November 2020.
Our product for venture-backed, high growth companies will simplify cap table management and equity compensation.
Although our HQ is in Clonakilty, we have offices in Hong Kong and Beijing and were supported by Enterprise Ireland to showcase our new product at Hong Kong Fintech Week.
The new Global Shares Growth Platform is designed specifically for startups and growing companies.
It is currently available in English and Simplified Chinese, with plans to roll it out multi-lingually over the coming months.
The platform gives founders easy-to-use control over their equity and cap tables and gives role-based access to employees and any investors, partners or law firms.
Our new platform allows founders to keep track of changes in ownership, stock dilution and investors. It allows them to issue shares to investors, grant options to employees, and calculate the impact of a new funding round – all in one clearly defined and manageable space.
Scenario modelling is also available, allowing founders and CEOs to measure the impact of a new funding round or see exactly how much people will earn in different exit scenarios. We remove the need to use complicated formulas – users just enter the numbers and the product crunches them.
Andy Wu, our Managing Director in Asia said: “The most expensive mistake a company can make is mismanaging their equity.
“Whether founders don’t understand dilution, or they don’t implement vesting, they can end up with a much smaller slice of the pie than they should. After putting all the work into establishing their company and getting it off the ground, it’s pretty soul-destroying to see mistakes such as these happen, but unfortunately, they happen all too often. Our new product helps growing companies avoid this.”
He added: “We’ve been working in the equity compensation space for 15 years and have taken everything we’ve learned from working with some of the world’s biggest companies and put it into this product. It’s a really great way for emerging companies to manage their ownership and equity.”
Equity is the most important leverage a company has – long before steady cash flows and market saturation, startups use their equity for recruitment, retention and fundraising.
Poorly managed cap tables are prone to errors. Investors know this, and founders will quickly find out for themselves. And if employees don’t have access to their equity, it’s hard to convince them of the benefit. What startups need is an accurate, accessible equity portal.
Our platform helps companies by giving them exactly that – a dynamic, automated cap table platform.
With this platform, founders are empowered by automated data and reporting – no more wasted time, no more errors. And stakeholders are empowered to view and manage their equity, anytime, anywhere.
Global Shares is one of the major players in the global share plan and equity compensation industry. We partner with HSBC, RBC, Bank of China, and many other large banks and financial services companies.
Our clients include Bytedance, SenseTime, L’Oreal, Fujitsu, Bosch and many more household names across the globe.
Founded in 2005 as a services only company, we launched our in-house software platform and this latest product offering for the emerging companies space.
We are the only remaining independent company in this space, taking on global banks and large multinationals, and currently employs 369 staff in 16 offices globally.
Hong Kong Fintech Week 2020 is expected to attract more than 25,000 participants from over 70 economies and 350 speakers. Governments, regulators and finance leaders such as Global Shares will join investors, founders and entrepreneurs from world-leading fintech players to discuss fintech trends and opportunities in the post-COVID-19 era.
