GEO London 2015

GEOs 16th Annual Conference was a notable success this year with a jam-packed agenda designed to focus on the hottest equity compensation issues.

The conference agenda and presentations resonated with attendees from a broad range of jurisdictions. Sessions were delivered by industry experts centred around the areas of share plan design, accounting, tax, regulatory compliance, plan communications and administration.

Participation in ESPP Panel Discussion

Given the increasing interest in employee stock purchase plans (ESPP) across the industry, Global Shares submitted a proposal to GEO for a panel discussion on international challenges within ESPP management.  Mona Hanes of Global Shares chaired a panel discussion entitled “The Art of Taming the Multi-plan Global ESPP.” The panel included experts from both the US and Europe and addressed many best practices for international plans.

Key takeaways and recommendations from the discussion were to document everything, consolidate functions to every extent possible and to maintain a sense of humour.

As decisions are made, keeping records of the decision cycle and discussions saves time when topics inevitably arise again. Consolidation of functions improves and streamlines the input, limits variation and exception processing.

Each panellist was generous with their information and a lively discussion was held between them and the attendees.

Client Demos and Meetings

We had a jam-packed schedule of meetings and demos over the 3-day event. We met with companies who run very successful equity plans spanning countries and continents and who continue to make huge commitments to delivering value and quality to all levels of their organisations.

It was an excellent opportunity for the Global Shares team to hear about the latest trends in the industry and showcase our new equity software solutions and services.

“It was great to participate in another very successful GEO event and to see the organisation go from strength to strength. The sessions were very informative and the standard of the sessions continues to be very high. It was also wonderful to have the opportunity to catch up with so many existing and new clients as well as industry partners.  We are already looking forward to next year’s conference to be held in Boston.”
