Global Shares warmly welcomes three seasoned industry professionals – Richard Johnson, Sarah Fearnley & Alex Lancaster – to our new Leeds team, based at our soon-to-open Leeds city centre office.
They will work in project management and client relationship management roles.
This announcement follows two recent senior appointments to Global Shares in Leeds, with Claire Hartley appointed as our new Head of Execution & Regulatory Services, and Darren Smith joining as our Business Development Director UK.
We are delighted to welcome Richard, Sarah and Alex to the Global Shares team. Their combined 40+ years' industry and management experience further enhances our growing momentum in the UK at a time of significant growth. We’re very excited about our upcoming Leeds office launch, which will create 50 new high-skilled jobs, and adds to our existing office in central London. We've had a great response to our Leeds recruitment drive to date and look forward to welcoming many more new joiners to our team in the coming months.
Richard Johnson joins Global Shares as a Project Manager, bringing 20+ years’ experience in the share plans and financial services industry in various strategic and project-focused roles. He was Head of Implementation at Computershare during a significant growth phase in the business and then went on to become Head of Integration for the acquisition of HBOS EES from Lloyds Banking Group, and of Morgan Stanley’s European share plans business. During this time, he worked closely with many of the world’s largest companies to help them transition to the Computershare platform.
Prior to joining Global Shares he worked in the UK mortgage sector, firstly with Computershare and then as an independent consultant, focusing on business strategy and innovation.
I have been very warmly welcomed by the team and am delighted to be working for Global Shares during this exciting phase of the company’s growth. I believe Global Shares is well positioned to capitalise on many opportunities in the global equities market and I am very much looking forward to working with the team and our clients to achieve our objectives.
Sarah Fearnley joins Global Shares as a Client Relationship Manager, having previously spent nine years working at YBS Share Plans, where she worked as a Client Relationship Manager looking after clients with large Sharesave, SIP and Discretionary Share Plans. During her time at YBS, she also held the role of Partnerships Manager and Service Delivery Manager, and she led the Share Incentive Plan team.
Prior to that, she spent two years working with Computershare as a QA Analyst.
Sarah brings extensive knowledge of the UK share plans market to Global Shares, as well as a passion for customer experience, and a track record of working with clients on award-winning communication plans.
I am very excited to join Global Shares at a time when it is growing so quickly and we are expanding our UK offering so much. Even though there are now nearly 600 employees it feels like I am joining a small, close-knit family. I am looking forward to meeting my colleagues in person when the new Leeds office opens, including quite a few familiar faces! So much has happened at Global Shares in the last few years. I can’t wait to see where we will be a few years from now!
Alex Lancaster joins us as a Client Relationship Manager, bringing 13 years of financial services experience from YBS Share Plans. Whilst at YBS he spent seven years working as a Client Relationship Manager, supporting companies to implement, promote and manage their all-employee and executive share plans. In his earlies days at YBS he worked as a Service Delivery Centre Resource Analyst, responsible for 120 staff in 3 different call centres across the UK, ensuring service level standards were met and maintained.
Alex brings his wide-ranging knowledge and expertise of the UK market to his new role at Global Shares, along with valuable experience in delivering creative communication strategies to improve employee engagement and understanding.
I am delighted to join Global Shares at a very exciting period of growth and expansion for the company, especially in the UK market. I looking forward to working with the Global Shares team who have a wealth of experience and expertise in this industry, and continuing to develop our fantastic service offering to new and existing clients. I can’t wait to start working at our new Leeds office and to meeting my new team in the flesh.
