Our MD North America appointed to CEPI Board of Advisors

Global Shares’ Managing Director for North America, Hugh Curran, has been appointed to the Board of Advisors of the Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI) at Silicon Valley’s Santa Clara University.

The Certified Equity Professional Institute is the only certification body for equity compensation professionals in the United States.

In his new role Hugh will oversee the curriculum development of the Certified Equity Professional (CEP) exams and play a key role in charting the Institute’s strategic direction.

On behalf of the Certified Equity Professional Institute at Santa Clara University, we would like to extend to Hugh our most sincere welcome to the Board of Advisors. Since 1989 the CEPI has served as the equity compensation industry’s educational standard, providing thousands of our alumni with the knowledge and authority to distinguish themselves as true equity professionals.
As a member of the Advisory Board, Hugh will play a key role in charting the Institute’s strategic direction and overseeing the curriculum and test development processes, leveraging his expert knowledge to ensure the program’s continued relevance and accuracy.
His impressive contributions at Global Shares distinguish him as an exemplary appointee to the CEPI Board of Advisors. We are tremendously excited to include him in the Institute’s leadership, and for the impact his extensive business development experience and strong ties to the industry will bring.

Hugh joined Global Shares in 2012 at the company’s headquarters in his native West Cork, Ireland, and progressed rapidly through operations and client management roles. He moved to the US in 2013 to set up Global Shares’ New Jersey office and moved into a business development role. His qualifications include a master’s in Financial Economics, a master’s in Mathematics, a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and he is a Certified Equity Professional (CEP).

In recent years Hugh has led the Global Shares North American business development team through a period of rapid expansion and he was awarded a “Global Honoree” at the 2019 and 2020 Silicon Valley ITLG Global Awards.

I am honoured to be invited onto the Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI) Advisory Board to work alongside an esteemed panel of members. I’ve always had the highest regard for the CEPI due to the depth of knowledge its programmes give into the equity compensation field, the expertise it provides to manage all the moving parts of an equity compensation plan and the excellent network of industry professionals it brings together. I’m really looking forward to working with the team there to drive initiatives forward and develop the CEP curriculum to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry.
