Meet our Business Development Team
JOHN MEEHAN, MANAGING DIRECTOR & HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
John joined Global Shares as Managing Director in January 2015 at an exciting and progressive time in the Company. He will lead the new Business Development Team responsible for advancing international business in Europe and in all regions outside of North America. John is based in our new Global Shares offices in St. Pauls in London which is in close proximity to the London Stock Exchange. Having spent over 15 years in the equity compensation industry John has held a number of Senior Client Management and Business Development positions working with many of the largest companies in the world. Before joining Global Shares, John worked for Computershare and was responsible for their Executive Investment Services business and also new business development for companies conducting IPOs. Prior to this, John was Head of Client Management for Morgan Stanley’s International Stock Plans business.
BRIAN PURCELL, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Brian is Business Development Executive and recently relocated from our New York office to our new London office. Brian joined Global Shares in February 2007 and has worked in various positions within the company progressing from Share Plan Analyst to his current role. Prior to Global Shares, Brian worked for InfoSecurityLabs developing their presence in the North American Market. He has completed a bachelor degree in Business as well as a Master’s of Business Science in Marketing. Whilst working with Global Shares, he has completed his Certified Equity Professional exams and also completed a diploma in International Selling.
MIKE BAKER, HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, EMEA
Mike joined Global Shares in June 2016 as the Head of Business Development, EMEA. Prior to this position Mike served as Director EMEA, Sales at Solium Capital UK Ltd, where he advised companies on implementation and ongoing management of employee share plans, as well as providing guidance in compensation strategy and best practice. Mike’s depth of experience will play a key role in accelerating Global Shares’ business development for the EMEA region. With over 25 years of experience in the implementation, management and administration of equity compensation plans to the role, Mike will be based in the London office and will Head Business Development for the EMEA region.
JÖRG ZIEGLER, MANAGING DIRECTOR GERMANY
Jörg Ziegler began his career with Dresdner Bank AG Frankfurt in 1991 in the private customer segment. After various positions in corporate banking, he moved to the head office of Dresdner Bank in early 2001. There he established the central division of employee stock ownership programs and specialized in advising, implementing and managing employee and executive programs. In early 2006, he moved to Munich to the Australian Computershare Group, where he became Director of the Computershare Plan Managers division for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From 2010 to 2016, as Head of Equity-based Compensation at KPMG, he is responsible for all topics relating to equity-based compensation programs in Germany. As Managing Director Germany, he has been responsible for the development of business units of Global Shares at D.A.CH Region since January 2017. He has been a member of the Global Equity Organization (GEO) since 2001 and has been the spokesman for GEO D.A.CH since 2011. Chapters of the organization. Jörg Ziegler is the author of numerous press publications and articles on the subject of share-based compensation.
HUGH CURRAN, VP & GM GLOBAL SHARES US
Hugh graduated in 2008 with a Degree in Business and Economics before going on to complete a Master’s Degree in Financial Economics in 2009. He joined Global Shares in 2012 and learned the business initially as a Business Analyst at the company’s Irish Headquarters, before moving to the US to set up Operations for the company’s West Coast clients. Hugh moved on to work as a Team Manager in Operations and as a Client Relationship Manager before moving to a Business Development Executive role. In 2016 he was appointed as Vice President and General Manager of Global Shares US Operations. He is an active member of several industry associations, including the Global Equity Organization (GEO) and National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), and also completed his Certified Equity Professional (CEP) exams.
JOHN BAGDONAS, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Based in New York City, John joined Global Shares in 2011 and is responsible for new business development in North America. Before joining Global Shares, John was an independent global share plans advisor working with issuers and service providers to help advance their equity compensation plans. He also assisted clients with project management support and resource requirement definition for new plan activities and product technologies. Previous to this, John was the North American lead responsible for the development of cross-border employee plan opportunities at Computershare, where he worked with global prospects and clients to develop integrated, cost-effective plan solutions for their multi-regional participants. Prior to its acquisition by Computershare, John was Product Manager for Employee Stock Plan Services at EquiServe, where he was responsible for defining the strategic product offerings for share plan clients and their employees in more than 150 countries. John is a frequent speaker on industry topics, and has participated on many share plan related panels and conferences, both in the US and internationally. John is an elected member of The Global Equity Organization (GEO) Board of Directors and currently serves on the Finance and Business Development Committees. He is also Chair of the Election Committee, and previously served as CFO and Treasurer. John is a past member of the Advisory Board of Santa Clara University’s Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI). He earned his CEP credential in 1999. He is also a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), the Global Equity Organization (GEO), the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and was awarded(with distinction)an M.B.A. in Finance from Adelphi University.
