Global Shares helped raise $5,000 for the 2021 Concern Worldwide ‘Unite to Fight Hunger’ campaign, which is focused on delivering life-saving health and nutrition programs to the most vulnerable people facing hunger in the hardest to reach places.
We donated a prize trip to Ireland for the Concern Worldwide Global Gala auction, which was hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the heart of New York City, on December 3rd.
We are so grateful for the support of our friends at Global Shares for this year’s Global Gala. Their generous donation of an ‘Ireland Getaway’ package was a huge hit, including Aer Lingus flight vouchers, a luxury stay at the four-star Inchydoney Lodge and Spa Hotel overlooking the beach, plus an exclusive Whiskey Tour and Tasting at the Clonakilty Distillery, which raised a total of $5,000. Every dollar of this will have an enormous, life-saving impact on the lives of men, women and children suffering from food insecurity every single day.
Global Shares was represented at the Black-Tie event by Hugh Curran, MD North America.
We were delighted to be part of this fundraiser and congratulate Karen and the team at Concern Worldwide for organising such a fantastic in-person event in the middle of the pandemic. The idea for the prize trip to Ireland was to reflect Global Shares’ Irish heritage and we hoped it would capture people’s imagination at the auction. It certainly did and we’re thrilled that it generated so much money for this very worthy cause.
